The Solano Property

The Solano Property is located in Baden and Argyle Townships about 56 km west of Kirkland Lake, Ontario Canada. The property may be accessed by a local road system or by float plane into Matachewan Lake. The Solano Property consists of eleven contiguous mineral claims (88 claim units for 1,408 ha) in the Larder Lake Mining District. Kirkland Lake is the nearest major community with a long history in the mining and exploration industry.

Most of the property is covered by extensive fluvioglacial deposits, and rock exposure is very limited. The property is underlain by mafic volcanics intruded by small felsic plugs. There are three known zones of gold mineralization: the Carbonate, the Richore Shear, and the 2004 Zones. At these zones gold values are associated with quartz veins in highly altered volcanic and intrusive rocks.

In the spring of 2004, Novawest Resources Inc. conducted a program of trenching followed by drilling, blasting and sampling on the Richore shear zone (on claim 3010018) and from the 2004 showing on claim 1241851. Forty-eight samples were collected from the blasted rock; forty-three from the Richore shear zone and five samples from a quartz stockwork in granite in the 2004 showing (Cullen, 2005a). Highlights from the sampling included; 17.8 g/t Au, 5.9 g/t Au, 7.15 g/t Au, 7.9 g/t Au, 17.6 g/t Au, 12.48 g/t Au, and 54.2 g/t Au.

In the autumn of 2004, Novawest Resources Inc. drilled a 248 m diamond drill hole under the 2004 surface showing. Grab samples from this area had previously yielded values of 2.72 g/t Au, 1.1 g/t Au and 0.4 g/t Au. There is a significant amount of overburden near the 2004 showing. As a result, diamond drilling has been performed instead of trenching. An initial diamond drill hole was completed in autumn of 2004 and a second hole was drilled in March 2005. Results from the 2004 test hole included, 8.05 metres assaying .43 g/t Au, 6.6 metres assaying .90 g/t Au, and 3.0 metres assaying 1.87 g/t Au. Results from the 2005 test hole included 1.9 metres assaying .85 g/t Au, 3.80 metres assaying 1.15 g/t Au, 1.45 metres assaying 2.22 g/t Au, and 1.75 metres assaying .47 g/t Au. Further drilling of the mineralized zone on claim 1241851 (where Novawest Resources Inc. drilled in 2004 and 2005) is recommended to determine the extent of the gold mineralized zone, and to locate zones of enrichment associated with intersecting structures.

The Solano Property warrants further exploration of the previously discovered occurrences, and possible extensions of showings or mineralized trends that have been discovered on the property. Pro Minerals Inc. hopes to define the source and control of this gold mineralization.
